Boulevard of Broken Dreams is a song from Green Day's seventh studio album, American Idiot, which was released in 2004. The music was composed by the band as a whole, while the lyrics were credited to the lead vocalist of the band, Billie Joe Armstrong.

I decided to strip the song down to the bare minimum and use open chords on an acoustic guitar. When I was first playing this piece, I played it with one of my school mates, with him playing electric guitar using bar chords, distortion and showing off the melodic genius that is the lead work in the instrumental.
